AURA IRB Upgrade: System OFF-LINE Friday 6/13, 5PM - Sunday 6/15, 12PM

Hello AURA IRB Users –

Please be advised that AURA IRB will be off-line for a system enhancement patch this Friday, June 13th @ 5:01PM to Sunday, June 15th – 12:00PM. You will NOT be able to log into the system during this time – please plan accordingly to prepare/route any IRB studies that require action now.

Why the extended downtime?

  1. This system enhancement will upgrade the AURA IRB environment to version 5.8.7. Our vendor, Huron/Click, has released over 200 performance improvements and enhancements as well as fixes to application bugs. This upgrade also brings the AURA IRB environment up to speed with the Grants and COI modules, both currently running on version 5.8.7.
  2. The AURA IRB environment will migrate from a physical server to a virtual machine (VM), for both the application and the database. The Grants and COI environments are currently running on VMs, so this will further align all three modules. We can anticipate improvements in administration, better reliability, and capacity for growth.

AURA IRB will look, feel, and act the same after this weekend’s system enhancement patch has been applied. No additional training will be necessary to use the upgraded system.
