After consulting further with the AURA Technical and Data Warehouse teams, it was decided to push back these events:
- The portal upgrade is pushed back to September 2-5 (Labor Day weekend). We will send out more details but would like to take AURA Grants off line the afternoon of Friday September 2. More specific details to come in late August.
- Deleting Withdrawn and abandoned FP’s is pushed back a week to July 29. At the RAHT meeting yesterday, it seemed like this would not adversely impact anyone.
If you have questions, please let me know.

Subject: [Grantsadmin-ura] AURA Grants - Deleting Abandoned FPs/Withdrawn FPs
Dear campus research administrators,
Later this month, we will upgrade the software running the AURA Grants system from versions 5.8.7 to 6.1.3. This is a major software release, much bigger and more time consuming than a patch, and will involve taking AURA Grants offline for at least an entire weekend. We have not finalized all of the logistics and anticipate that AURA Grants will be off line the weekend of July 23-24.
Part of this upgrade is to delete the abandoned and withdrawn FPs. This will involve deleting any FP that meets the following criteria:
- State is Withdrawn
State is Proposal Development where:
- The opportunity deadline is in the past OR
- There has been no activity in the past year
If you do not want an FP in Proposal Development deleted, please update the opportunity deadline to a future date (beyond August 1, 2016) by 5pm on July 22.
By deleting these FP’s, we will have fewer records to migrate and the searching in AURA Grants will be a bit faster and easier as you will not have to see all of these older abandoned records.
I know that there is a lot going on this time of year and I truly appreciate your attention to this issue. If you need assistance, please contact AURA-Help@uchicago.edu or me.
